Even though the lake was shrouded with fog and we couldn’t see much, I had a fantastic time. Clyde identified the calls of the different birds we heard and then the birds themselves as the fog began to lift. We kayaked to an island and watched some birds feed their babies up at the top of a dead tree then moved back to the water in search of the Brown Booby. He found us first and after taking a dip in the lake, resumed his perch on buoy 3 allowing us to take his picture. By the time we made it back to the boat launch the fog had lifted and it was gorgeous out. From the Bald Eagle swooping through the parking lot to the Brown Booby on Buoy 3 and the vultures lining up on the shore, this outing was by far one of the most fun, educational and enjoyable outings that I have been on in a long time. For anyone who enjoys nature or birds in general, I would highly recommend that you check out Clyde Wilson’s Backyard Birds in Bracey, VA.
Thank you so much for taking me out birding. I had a wonderful time! I think this is a great business idea and has the potential to grow into something big over time, especially with people coming in to the lake for the summer.
